If we boil down the color trends for winter 2018, these four top the list: burgundy, olive, tan, and mustard.
Burgundy is red’s more understated sister, and we’re seeing it everywhere and in all types of clothing.
We recommend the Lace-Up Sweater Tunic and Cozy Boyfriend-Fit Tunic as some of our favorite sweaters this season. But if you’re not ready for all-over color, several items sport burgundy accents, like this dress and this long-sleeved floral top. Burgundy is a great option for everyone because it's a jewel tone, so it looks good with every skin tone.
Olive is flattering because it is a true earth tone, so it works well as a neutral. Some of our favorite options in the shop this winter are available in olive, including this easy-to-wear dress and a pretty turtleneck.
Is there a more adaptable and complementary color than tan? Because it plays so well with other colors, we recommend picking up wardrobe staples like cardigans and jackets in tan. That way you can wear these over and over during a season when it’s nice to have an extra layer on hand.
Some people associate mustard with the 1970s, but the ’70s are back (watch for our upcoming post on runway trends that are ’70s inspired). We love embracing mustard for the happiness yellow brings to any wardrobe. Try this cardigan or this tunic if you’re looking to add mustard to your closet.
