  • I would like to nominate my sister Elizabeth Thornton. She is super-woman. She is raising a medically fragile 11 year old who constantly needs care night and day. On top of that, she homeschools all 4 of her children between 11 and 6, who attend school online. She serves as a member of her local school board to ensure all students needs are met. She gives so much to her children, and those in her community, it would be awesome to see her get a little something back.

  • I want to nominate my sister-in-law Natalie Zohner. She is a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She is always giving her time and energy to her children like any good mother. She will always be tending her family’s and friends’ children without asking for anything in return. She loves to send little gifts to people when she thinks they need a pick me up. She has given up a lot of her own personal desires this year for the needs of her family and deserves a chance to spoil herself.

  • I want to nominate my sister Holly. She is relentlessly kind and she’s giving and serving. She is a great mom and the best sister. Always lending a listening ear and loves unconditionally. She draws people to her because she radiates goodness.

  • I would like to also nominate my sister, Christie Sims. Christie is a middle school guidance counselor who is always looking for ways to serve the students she works with in a personal way. She keeps a closet of personal need items that the students have access to as needed. Just a few weeks ago, she purchased out of her own money, a pair of shoes for a student who walks to school. Her job can be stressful with suicide threats, child abuse and neglect, and even threatening situations but she continues to assist children in positive ways each and every day.

  • My nomination is my daughter, Dr. Leslie Myers! She is in the residency program at Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville NC. Les is a Family Med doc who not only cares for her patients and coworkers but is a great wife to Andrew and mom to 15 month old Lynnlee, all while expecting in April and serving her country in the Navy. She has high standards for herself as well as a caring disposition for all she comes in contact with. She is my best friend and hero!
